Duval Street: The Heartbeat of Key West

Duval Street sits at the center of Key West. Stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean, you'll find museums, art galleries, and restaurants all packed into a single mile. At night, hit one of the famous bars and party like a local, or spend a day at the shops of Mallory Square. The southern end of Duval marks the southernmost point in the continental United States, perfect for a photo op.

Dining

Hop next door from our inn to the Green Parrot Bar, voted the best bar in Key West. As you stroll down Duval Street, you'll find many restaurants and bars, including the original Margaritaville. Make sure you visit Sloppy Joe's, once frequented by Ernest Hemingway and now home to the annual look-alike contest. You'll never go hungry on Duval Street. Be sure to leave room for a slice of Key lime pie.

Annual Area Events

There's always something happening on Duval Street. In April we celebrate the Conch Republic's "independence" with a week-long festival of music, food, and more. If you're looking for good food, try June's Key Lime Festival, Lobsterfest in August, and the Goombay Festival each October. Other annual events include motorcycle runs, a sculpture parade, and of course Hemingway Days each July.
